Lychnis coronaria

Lychnis coronaria

A lovely deep pink. Another enthusiastic spreader from seed. I have the two-tone 'white with pink eye' version also. They are both willing givers and need to be ejected from areas they are not wanted.

It does seem to like my borders which surprises me, SBG, as we're on clay. But the ground does dry out very quickly so that may be the secret. I can grow all the same plants in this space as I could on my thin chalk in Oxfordshire!

It is, Yorks.

I like it, Janey, but it can get over-enthusiastic here.

It's a colour that seems to work well wherever it goes, Kate.

I also have this one ,and as you say,it seems to work well anywhere.I also have the white one tinged with pink this year, which is strange,as I've never bought one. None of our neigbours have this either..A gift from the birds maybe?

Probably, Bloomer. I have to referee this plant so that it doesn't take over but it is beloved of the insects.
