Two plants that won't be eliminated!

Red clover and Geranium (Orion, I think)
I dig these out every year! The clover refuses to be cowed and the geranium seeds everywhere and flops about. Not seen a bee on them this year, sadly. Very few bees or butterflies about.

Shirley, my OH goes out every evening on slug patrol when he's feeding the hedgehog. It doesn't seem to decrease the numbers: they're everywhere this year!

It's the snails too - yesterday I moved a pot that was tucked in a border and found seven of the blighters, both on the sides and in the pot, grrr!

I do think this is a very pretty mix here, Ange. Quite naturalistic…

Strange Bees normally go for clover , Anget you haven't trained your hedgehog to do his slug eating duty , no more snacks for him Haha

A pretty combination though Anget ! They obviously like it there and have decided to stay! Haha!
Considering how many roses, lavender and other bee plants, there haven't been many here either! Maybe it's the mixture of heavy rain and then really hot sun!

Yes, Amy, up until this year they've been full of bees but not much sign to date.
Rose, I agree with you about the combination but that particular geranium flops over a 3ft. circumference. A wonderful hidey-hole for the wretched slugs this year. It seeds about enthusiastically, so I am unlikely ever to be without it.

Now that's just the opposite to here Anget as the garden has seen more Bees this year than ever before. No Hoverflies and just a few Butterflies. I cut back the Geraniums and Aquilegias yesterday, did a little more earlier today and was annoyed to find so many fat slugs lurking. I don't use chemicals or slug pellets so it's to be expected I guess . . . :o(
