I love Escallonias . . . always recommended as a coastal shrub but seem to thrive just about anywhere!

That's so pretty. How tall do they grow please Shirley?

Julia, this is Escallonia rubra macrantha, planted in 2011, height and spread (eventually) of 9ft. but I keep this trimmed to about 6 to 7ft. high and 3ft. wide. Just putting a photo from last year on for you. Hope that helps!

Oh dear, too big for my garden then :-((

Julia, how about some Euonymous shrubs in your new garden? Lots of choice ... just a thought ... or Hebes perhaps ... :o)

All suggestions gatefully received Shirley. I have already earmarked a couple of plants I want to move in the autumn, when I plant my spring bulbs.

All I do to Euonymous and Hebes are trimming over with shears to keep them to a size I like . . . easy-peasy!

I've got to the age etc that easy-peasy gardening is right up my street! :-))

Lovely strong pink, Shirley. Mine are a tad paler.
