Lovely surprise!

Lovely surprise!

Whilst weeding out some Welsh Poppies today, I found this Hellebore flowering away.

Oh Shirley! That's lovely! I brought one Hellebore Tutu, with me. It was a gift originally from Oliveoil...who seems to have disappeared from GoY. :-((

Dear little plant. Glad it gave you a nice surprise!

How unusual and such pretty one.

Julia, Oliveoil is Karen's Mum isn't she? I do seem to recall her saying she would be spending more time with the grandchildren, and less on GoY, some years ago. Just seen her last entry was in 2017!

Chris, I was so surprised to see it in bloom. It had been overshadowed by a Hebe which I have now cut back a fair bit.

Thanks K, I cannot even remember when or where I bought it, let alone planted it. Another senior moment . . . :o(

Wow, that is a beauty, what a summer surprise.

Siris, I know! How it has been flowering in the shade of a Hebe is anyone's guess!

Yes I do remember her saying she wouldn't be on GoY as much due to grandma duties ( I think a lot of us can relate to that) but as you point out nothing since 2017...that's an awful long time.
I also know she's Karen Frazers mum, but she's no longer on GoY and even on the other social media site she joined doesn't seem to have heard much from her.

Thanks Kate ... I shall probably move it later in the year ... too well hidden where it is!

Oh I remember Olive Oil, she is Cottage Karen's mum. I used to love going on her page! They are lovely flowers Shirley! If you hadn't have said, I wouldn't have known it was a Hellebore

Rose, do you recall how Olive Oil's flower borders used to become wider as she was often cutting the turf paths back . . . I think there was just the width for a wheelbarrow to be pushed along!

I still can't think where I got this Hellebore from . . . :o(
