Me swimming in the sea - honestly

Me swimming in the sea - honestly

It's not a seagull, it's the back of my head! This was at Studland on a crowded beach ...

... just to the right of centre. Don't worry if you can't expand the photo - it won't make much difference. You'll just have to take my word for it. I haven't swum in the sea for many years, and it wasn't cold, it was a treat!

No idea how my OH managed to snap this without any other people in the shot - there really were about 200 holidaymakers on the rest of the beach.

Oh Sheila you are brave. I can't swim so I daren't go out any further than my thighs! I do love walking on the water's edge though.

This would have been ideal for you Julia … so shallow that my knees touched the sand when I swam! It was better swimming on my back and watching the clouds which I love to do 🙂.

Oh how I wish!

Smashing pic, Sheila! A lovely view, gorgeous blue sky and sea..and that clean, white sand! I can spot you, as Julia mentioned! Good for you! I haven’t swam in the sea for about 3 years and that was abroad! I’m quite envious! 😊

Thanks Kate, I was surprised at myself, but couldn’t resist - these chances don’t come very often!

That's very brave, Sheila - I can just see you! I've just been reading about today's North East Skinny Dip raising money for charity - that sounded VERY bold, taking place in the Northumberland coast....

Thank you Ange … not brave at all, just fancied a dip. And the dunes behind the beach were perfect for a very quick change!

Thanks Klahanie, a friend had told me that the sea here is still quite mild in September … she was right.

Very nice too. Love the sea - sometimes daringly go in right up to my ankles, preferably when the tide's coming in over the pre warmed sand...
Hope you have some great memories to see you through the winter!

Me too. Just a paddle! Glad you enjoyed your swim, Sheila. I believe the sea is at its warmest at this time of year, when it has had all summer to warm up ( well , a bit). :-)

Thanks Sue and Josee … I usually just paddle, but then wondered when I’d get the chance again. Yes, great memories …

I can just about make you out Sheila :)
I think I would have walked across that rope bridge before I went into the sea now !

I am so envious, I miss the sea. Glad you took the plunge.

Thanks Sandra. No, I won't get another chance for quite a while as we live too far from the sea unfortunately :) x

Thanks Hywel, well, luckily we're all different!

Me too Eileen, thanks - any chance of a holiday sometime soon?
