This large umbrella tree is starting to flower at Mission Valley Shopping Center mall here in San Diego, CA. Photo taken Oct. 26, 2021.

You read my mind. I saw one here yesterday from Hesperian. I might take a drive..but if it's in a backyard I won't be able to take a photo. But like yours it was shiny green. But not that big. I would say 15'. A youngin.

Mission Valley is named after the Mission which located there from 1777.

These two trees are at least 35 ft tall and about as wide have been there for many decades. It could have been planted in the late 1960’s.

Yes, each flower spike extends 2 to 3 ft from the center. Its other common name is octopus tree, because of the way the flowers develop.
