Croton ‘Mammy’

My croton doesn’t realize it’s winter. It’s putting out lots of new growth for such a tropical plant. It’s been pretty warm here the last 3 weeks or so. Mostly 70 - 80 degrees. Photo taken Jan. 30, 2022.

It’s not an easy plant to grow as a houseplant. It tends to get spider mites indoors.
It becomes a small shrub here, if watered regularly.

Great to see what for us in the UK is purely an indoor plants growing so well outside & be so big as well! Looks really nice!

It can be a little tricky to grow here. We get so little rain and croton needs steady moisture. It really hates temps below 55 degrees, also.

I used to have one as a house plant many many years ago. they are lovely plants.
