January is when many of the Dombeya species bloom here in San Diego. The flowers clusters usually get much larger than my tree in a big pot. They’re typically as large as a small cantaloupe. The fragrance of the flowers smell like strawberry cake or ice cream. Photo taken Jan. 30, 2022.

It’s having a really good bloom in the very warm weather we’ve been having here in San Diego.

Added to my faves, it’s absolutely beautiful! I am just trying to evoke the sweet fragrance in my head! 😊

Thanks! 😀
Large trees are very spectacular. The only real issue with this tree is that the flowers hang on the tree after they’re brown.
