Cornus Kousa schmetterling

I have this shrub ina huge pot , but never seem to get many flowers!

Love these. Did it take years before it flowered Amy?

What sort of soil is it in, AmY?

Thanks all , Sheila its 4 years old , it only had one flower the first year and then a couple more each year ,this 4th year i'm pleased to say it's covered in flowers ..
Anjet I haven't had the soil tested , it's in a gravel area I've checked in my book where it says any " reasonable soil will do " .. I hope that helps ..

My Cornus “Eddie’s White Wonder” took 7 years before flowering. When I queried it to the seller, she advised adding leaf mould, but it didn’t help much!

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that Sheila , I had one in my previous garden which I loved making me buy one when we moved here that one wasn't any problem flowering either , I like the fact that they have lovely raspberry looking berries in the autumn . This one is growing in full hot sun, I'm not sure if that's helping ...
