View from my bedroom.

The horse chestnuts are changing colour and the children are collecting conkers, an age-old ritual that doesn't change.
Had storms on Friday, the first reminder that we shall be clearing mountains of leaves soon!

So true! We have so many NEIGHBOURING trees which are lovely to see, but my word what a lot of work they make … (I try to tell myself we’re lucky really 🙂).

I know what you mean, Sheila. Our side front garden gets swamped with leaves every year. On the plus side it helps with the exercise and the compost bins...

I dread to think how many leaves from neighbouring trees will fall into my garden this year. The property has been empty since early February and nothing has been done to the trees and shrubs within the garden ... :o(

I forgot to say that the thought of gathering them up for leaf mould does not appeal any longer! To much effort for too little gain!

That's unlucky with your lack of neighbours, Shirley. You would hope someone would be in to keep it under control.
I agree about the leaf chore, but, like you, we have no choice or they are 2 ft deep usually in certain areas. A real pain!

Anget, there are no relatives living close by. When the daughter does occasionally come down, her partner mows the lawn and she weeds the front garden. Good luck with your leaf gathering ... :o)

The conkers and acorns are falling from the trees early this year, and the trees are turning colour early too. Pity you can't put up a sign, free leaves for the taking for your compost, bring your own sacks.
