Artocarpus heterophyllus - Jackfruit Tree

This tree used to be to the third level of this building and beautiful! It was butchered back to the trunk a little more than two years ago, now it looks good again. It had a jackfruit the size of a basketball once, I wish I got a pic! Photo taken October 20, 2022 in San Diego, CA.

I have a small Black Gold variety jackfruit about 3 feet tall. It loves water! It’s not too widely grown here because it needs a lot of water. A few blocks down the street from this one there’s a jackfruit about 10 ft tall.

Looks great in what looks like normal business lot watering. I give up on anymore tropical fruit trees..just no room and the water it takes to get them established the first few years is high.
