Guess it will have some eggs safely stashed away for next year. I believe they like brambles

I have read that they overwinter as pupae or lavae. From that info, I assume the adult woud die at the end of the season.
Ps, STERAGRam, there is a cultivated Blackberry growing along the side of our bungalow.

oh that is a shame, but it is a speckled wood. They are very pretty butterflies aren't they.
