I'm really pleased that my new baby Acer has survived winter and the torrential rains.
I love the fan shape and colour of the leaves and also tiny red flowers..:))

Thanks Sheila and Julia, the tiny flowers are in bud, I had no idea there would be any..:))
I think we had one warm afternoon, weeks ago and that's when the leaves decided to open! I thought it was risky, but they've survived. I do love it!

Lovely Acer tree, Janey! I love Acer trees & I know of one just a couple of minutes walk from our place that has beautiful purple foliage that's very elegantly cut! I often admire it as I walk past!

It's a lovely colour isn't it Balc. I bet its the purpurea, yes elegantly cut is the term for their leaves. This one's remind me of the leaves of the Ginko biloba tree. The same colour too. I've had to move it to a more sheltered position, because of the strong east wind we're having..

The wind causing the leaves to shrivel & dry up are the bane of these lovely trees!

You're right there Balc. I'd love a garden with Acer trees and in the Lake District!!..:)

Wow! How exciting Janey, itβs lovely. Mine is still only in bud, and I had no idea it would have flowers - something else to look forward to π.
