Gardeners' World - what did you think?

Hopefully some of you watched Gardners' World last Friday, but it would be a shame if you missed it. Why? It was an exceptional programme because the presenter was Frances Tophill! She was a very good communicator, relaxed and knowledgeable.

We learnt about her history, her new garden in Devon, and her beloved allotment. If this was some kind of 'trial', as in 'Who will replace Monty?' my vote is definitely for Frances Tophill.

This is the first time in months I have watched the programme all the way through! I think she would appeal particularly to the younger element who don't have acres, want to do their bit for the environment and don't necessarily have deep pockets. I think you're right, Meadow, she and Adam would be a dream team. (But I don't suppose they would tick all the 'diversity boxes'...)

I did enjoy GW on Friday. I thought Frances came into her own, so easy and chatty and interesting, it felt like you were having a day there with her. Lovely little garden that we'll enjoying seeing develop over the coming months. So young yet inspiring..

I didn't know GW was back for a new season! I will have to watch it on the BBC iPlayer. I like both Francis as well as Adam & they would be a fantastic duo if Monty is being replaced soon. I've always enjoyed Monty but perhaps it's time for some new "sap" to revitalise GW! 👍
