Jerusalem sage growing in our Sunvalley area
Some (most?) people do not like it but I am fond of its boldness and architectural quality. The flower spikes are sturdy , about 4+ ft tall.
Significantly drought tolerant and deer resistant.

I think I first saw them on BBC Gardener's World where Monty Don had them planted in a bog garden. Would that seem the right planting place for them?

It's an attractive plant, the flowers are really unusual, as I mentioned. It's odd that you don't get the comments on your spectacular roses, they are envy inducing! :-)

I have only ever seen these on gardening programs, never for sale. I think they're quaint with the flowers a way apart on the stem.
