I did a 'hatchet job' on my 'Lady of Shalott' this afternoon. The dry weather had ravaged the plant and the rain (one half day only!) had knocked down the branches. It looked terrible so I have removed all the dead flower heads - which looked like soggy hankies - and have cut it back by a third. These were the only decent flowers remaining. The anchusa keeps popping back up no matter how much I decapitate it and the alstro. is a complete thug. But apart from that they look quite nice!

That’s a very lovely arrangement Ange 🙂.

Lovely colour combination, I like coral (or orange) with blue. Sadly, it takes one day of rain or high breezes to destroy one rose..

Lovely arrangement of flowers Ange. My Petunias looked tattered and torn after the heavy rains but seemed to have recovered now.

Thank you, girls. This capricious weather is certainly a challenge. We could certainly do with some proper rain now.

Just been on a walk and it's very humid out there.

I’m hoping there’s been some rain at home while I’m away with our Aussie family in the French Alps. 30 degrees on Monday which they’re used to but we’re not!

Hope you're having a good time, Sheila.

Haha, I love to read your descriptions Ange!
It does look a very pretty arrangement. I do know with the extremes of weather, my roses tho flowering prolifically, can't withstand such a battering. I brought an harmful in and like you, I'm enjoying them indoors.
