These trees are becoming enormous..

That is quite a contrast between your beautifully managed garden and those massive trees in the background! We have a similar problem but unfortunately the trees are actually ours!!!

I don't think trees should be allowed to grow too near houses and gardens.

They are pretty huge. Julia. I'm thinking now about your light and sunshine...wonder what effect you'd enjoy if they were 'chopped' - much more light I'd expect, and open sky...
