Thank you both ...

Steragram's Lena might have come from me Sandra, I gave her several rooted cuttings a long time ago when I went to see her.

Agree. Very pretty colouring, plus the bonus of being hardy too.

How interesting ,Hywel, and very grateful I was, to get a replacement for mine,,so thank you, if it did originate from you,as it was one I bought for my mum,way back in the 70's ! xx.

Just yesterday I took some 3 cuttings of each of my 2 hardy Fuchsias, 'Garden News' & 'Beacon'. I've put them in a small jar with water & once they root I'll pot them up & keep them growing in the kitchen over winter.

The plants they came from will have to stay out on the balcony & take their chances with the winter cold. They won't be completely abandoned but will be put under the balcony table, which is in the most sheltered place on the balcony. While we don't have a horrible winter like 2009-10 then they should come through the winter with flying colours!

I keep a couple of my established Fuchsia's inunder the Patio Table every winter,Balcony, and wrap them over with Garden Fleece, and I've never lost one yet, whatever the weather.
I do ,however, pull them out if it's suitable to do so, and let them get some air.:o) Good luck with your cuttings..x

Thanks, Bloomer. I do something similar with my plants & have only lost them in that terrible winter of2009/10.
