Trandescantia ‘Nanouk’

Trying to keep them variegated is the hard part. My various Tradescantia over the years would revert outdoors.
Looks great,ultra showy.

It is very showy. I haven’t seen any evidence of this plant reverting back to green.

A slow process Andy. Maybe this variety is just fine, I've never kept it.Just a growing tidbit about others I've tried.

I don’t think it’s an issue with this plant. The parent is T. zebrina which is naturally variegated.

Here in the UK it makes an attractive houseplant.

I can't remember ever seeing this plant before! I have had T. zebrina growing in the kitchen (plants are renewed every few years) , on top of our fridge almost as long as we have lived in this flat!

I also have plants of T.fluminensis, which I like for the brilliant dark glossy green leaves & lovely white flowers during the summer.

It’s becoming more commonly grown here.

T. zebrina grows as a very nice groundcover here, but T. flumenensis is a horrible weed! I can’t get rid of it. The flowers in the full sun are blue here in San Diego.

I agree that T.fluminensis can be a weed! I never see the seedheads or capsules, or what ever it is the seeds are held in, but they spring up all over the balcony as well!

Though they aren't completely frost hardy they die back, like herbaceous plants, in the winter & then grow again the following year. I keep a couple of pots of it inside the flat anyway. I don't think it's really necessary because seeds remain dormant in the compost on the balcony & don't seem to be affected by frosts as they sprout the following year. But I do find them very easy to pull out if they are in the wrong place or are becoming invasive.

I spotted that Trichocereus you posted. It's on Pompano?...still in full bloom midday.
