A sunny Saturday. Two Saturdays ago

We went to Dorchester for the day. It was freezing but very cold. There was a dearth of good pubs for lunch, but we eventually found the Poet Laureate in Poundbury (King Charles’ experimental neighbourhood). Scott called it Poundland by accident which made me laugh a lot! Anyway, it was very lovely although some of the wooden windows were getting very shabby. All the houses are traditional, mostly Georgian and Victorian inspired I’d say. They are still building it, it’s massive. It will increase the size of Dorchester by 1/3 when it’s finished. Too big I think. But very attractive.

Anyway, this scene is not in Poundland, it’s the Victorian Town Park which is very lovely. Decent shops in Dorchester. And a great museum, although we couldn’t go inside with the dog. Next time…Weymouth.

Lovely gardens. That would make a great watercolour painting with all the differences in the light and the bold shapes and shadows.

Poundland, ha, ha, ha! Great photo and Dorchester is such a lovely place. I bought some lovely planters in the market when we there in April.

Lovely and atmospheric pic, Karen. We went to Dorchester for the day, years ago, when we spent a week in and around that area.

Thanks everyone, for the lovely comments. We have all come down with a very nasty bug! I am so fed up 9f bugs now. It’s been a constant battle since Niamh started nursery. Different bug every week!

Karen, welcome to the world of being a Grandparent! Seriously, I feel sorry for you and will just say that it is my daughter-in-law's birthday today but both she and our son have tested positive for Covid.

They had planned to go to Nymans gardens today but instead she is feeling dreadful and is in bed.

I hope you feel better soon ... :o) x

Thanks Shirley, it just goes on and on. But definitely past the worst of i5 now. Yep, I think it may well be Covid AGAIN!
