This is a highly fragrant flower. To me it smells like honey and only lasts a day, but has a lot of flowers. It is in the South African Iridaceae family and is easy from seed sown in the fall and kept cool but not frosty.

It is a beauty, yes similar to a toad lily Karen.

The Ferraria have that frilly edge. I started a couple other species this year, so there should be results in a few years.

Looks lovely, Wylie! I'd never heard of it before either. Does it take long to flower from seed?

It takes about 3 years from seed. This year I started F. ferrariola and F. uncinata. It takes cool, fluctuating temperatures in the fall to germinate.

I’ve never seen or heard of this. It’s beautiful. It reminds me of a toad Lily.
