Sitting on top of our Douglas fir ( Pseudotsuga menziesii )
One of nature's largest raptors, with wings that can span eight feet.
They are protected but there seems to be a healthy population around here. They are gliding around without "flapping" their wings for hours. Amazing to watch.
Symbolize freedom, wisdom strength, and courage for our indigenous people.

I love the birds of prey. You've taken a lovely photo of the Eagle. Years ago I was at a show and the bird people wanted someone to go into the ring and help fly a Buzzard. I wore a gauntlet and it was amazing to see the Buzzard so close. His eyes were like amber jewels, and when he flew towards me his wingspan was massive.
