The blackbirds are nesting.

The blackbirds are nesting in the Clematis, right on top of the water barrel again. I didn’t think there was enough foliage to hide a nest this year but Mrs Blackbird thinks otherwise. She obviously likes pretty wallpaper. It doesn’t seem to bother her when I fill the watering cans from there.

it's amazing how quickly the nesters get used to you if you just go about your business and don't linger (unless you have cats, of course!) Lucky you and what a pretty clematis, too.

Thank you Kate and Ange. We sit in the conservatory and watched her flying in and out. I cut the clematis back quite a lot last autumn because it was becoming overgrown with too many bare branches. Thankfully it has put on quite a bit of new growth over the last 2 months and is flowering better than last year.

She must feel very safe with you Hb. Very pretty wallpaper I agree. Just imagine sitting on her nest and looking out at those beautiful flowers..
