Cowslips

One thing this garden can grow is cowslips. They have seeded all through the borders. I weeded out 120 plants last year for a wildlife meadow nearby. They have begun to take off there, too.

I can grow these, Shirley, but would rather have primroses, and they don't requite my love unfortunately.

How marvellous to contribute to a wildflower meadow … very community-spirited of you. We used to have a huge local one with cowslips growing in a mass up to the horizon, but there’s a fence of chicken wire there now 🙁.
