Not Earthworms

I didn’t think you’d want to see the 500 Earthworms that I ‘planted’ in my garden today, so I took a photo of these peonies instead! But I wanted to tell you that if your garden has no earthworms like mine, you can buy them online! Years of building machinery compacting the clay, the builders scraping off the topsoil to make foundations and heavy clay soil all add up to a terrible anaerobic pan. So after digging in a load of compost, I’ve dug in some wiggles too! It will be interesting to see when the first bird comes searching!

They were very big, fat, juicy ones!

Karen, I thank you for posting the flower photo, not sure I would have liked to see 500 worms in one go! How on Earth were they packaged?

They were in compost, inside a plastic hessian-style bag Shirley. I had to wear gloves, I’m really squeamish about touching worms…too squishy!

Same here Karen, gloves go on if it involves slugs, snails or worms! Mind you, I will happily let a Ladybird walk on my hands but panic with spiders!

Eugh…no spiders get on me…although I did once hold a tarantula.
