? Common Buttercup

I noticed this on the rockery the other day. Geranium like leaves, slightly variegated. Vivid yellow flower. I presume it's a weed? Or wildflower?
I think I'll keep it for now, several buds on and it fills a space where things struggle to grow.

I remember Alan Titchmarsh saying, a weed is just a plant in the wrong place!
But buttercups will take over though.

The leaves look like buttercup as well. If you leave it to take over you'll be hard pushed to get rid of it.
