Sunflower Pacino

My Oh growing some sunflowers from seed, Janey. No blooms yet. He is growing them for birds.

I have a photo underneath the Sunflower that won first prize on the allotment field about 15 years ago! I won 1st prize - a bottle of rose wine!

I was sharing an allotment with a friend from my old church & he took the photo of me under the Sunflower with multiple heads. Later he put it in a frame & gave it to me & even now it's on the shelves above my computer!

We grew 100s of Sunflowers as he saved seeds for his birds at home as well as for the wild birds.

No, Janey, we had no problems with snails & slugs. Not even the lettuces were touched!

Goodness not like now, I picked snails off these most nights.

I saw them on the plot but they never seemed to bother our produce!
