Red Admiral Butterfly

Few and far between so far here.

Same here ... mainly cabbage whites in the garden now.

He's enjoying your sweet grapes Shirley. We had a lovely day yesterday and there was a couple of red admirals and a couple of commas on my old white buddleia. I've never seen two commas together before...:))

How lovely Janey ... I haven't seen a Comma for a couple of years and find it quite concerning how few Bees and Butterflies have been around this year.

I know, the cold wet spring hasn't helped. There were no baby bees emerging from my bee house this May either. I'll post a pic of the buddleia.. :)

I shall look out for it ...

There was a Cabbage White fluttering around outside the balcony today but even they have been scarcer this year than previous years. In general bees & butterflies, even Hoverflies, are scarcer this year. It seems the cold spring has a lot to do with it. Perhaps we will see more next year again - if the weather is more favourable!

Thanks David, I also have noticed how few Hoverflies are around this year, but on the plus side, yesterday the Sedum flowers were buzzing with Bees ...:o)

We've had quite a lot of butterflies recently. Bees are reducing however, I guess due to our blooms fading.
