How have you managed to keep it so green, Sheila? Where is it positioned? Mine are crisped.

No idea Ange! It’s in semi shade in a bed of stones and I ignore it most of the time.😏

It's looking very healthy Sheila! The best so far. Is it quite sheltered where it is? You've such a lot of pretty fan shaped leaves, why mine keeps sending out long branches with different leaves is a mystery unless it's been grafted, which I'm sure it hasnt..oh well..:))

That could be it Janey! I've read the Shirasawanum acers are grafted onto Palmatum rootstocks to gain extra vigour.

Definitely healthy looking! My acers out in the front garden seem to be in the best condition.

Oh really Julia, that's it then! I'll let it be both haha. I must have taken off 6 previous branches over the summer.

Well, if we’re talking crispy, my Acer Osakazuki is extremely crispy in spite of copious watering!

Oh Sheila, my Orange Dream is just orange stems, no leaves at all!

Oh no Janey! How extraordinary, but at least it will come back next year, fully recovered 🤞.
