They do add a lot of colour and interest to shady corners.

Very vibrant! I love coleus!
They add lots of color to dark parts of the garden. The only drawback is that they only live outside for only 3 to 4 years and then they need to be replaced. Luckily, they’re easy from cuttings.

That's exactly right Delonix. They are just so easy to propagate. I always have some waiting to replace those that are going to die off.

I do the same. I have a beautiful bright red one that I got cuttings from my friend a few years ago.

That was actually one of my garden jobs today - to take tip cuttings from all my Coleus plants. It's something I do before the arrival of our wet season, hoping that I have something established just in case I lose the ones out in garden beds.

That’s funny, I just potted up some new cuttings a day ago.
Cuttings usually root in about 5 to 8 days, extremely fast.

Yes, they don't take long at all. I want to get mine started now and hopefully they'll survive the wet season.

What else?
See who else is growing Solenostemon scutellarioides (Coleus).
See who else has plants in genus Solenostemon.

Another lovely one, Bernie! They're all so pretty/striking. Such a varied collection.
