These yellow ones are usually eaten by Pigeons. They used to be enjoyed by Blackbirds, sadly we rarely see a Blackie in the garden now.

Same here re. the blackbirds. I hope they're not going the way of thrushes. Never see a song thrush at all now..
Nice pyracanthas, by the way, Shirley.

Ange, a couple of years ago we had new neighbours who chopped down just about every tree and shrub in the back garden. The large Bay tree in their garden was home to Blackbirds, Robins, Sparrows and these days the Bay is about two foot tall ... yes I did peer over the fence to see if it was re-growing ... so it will be years before any birds nest within it ... such a shame!
They did leave a very large Beech tree in the back right corner but that merely serves as a landing place for Pigeons ... :o(

Oh goodness, gravel, plastic grass and decking...

No, just a mess of long grass and muddy borders! I have fund the photo of the fabulous Bay tree and will post it on here in a minute.

I remember you telling us about all the felling Shirley. Such a pity. I haven’t seen that many blackbirds about either. I’m hoping they will reappear as winter approaches. However, I can sit on my settee & watch G Spotted Woodpeckers on my neighbours feeders every day. I usually start putting my own feeders out in November. I love the yellow Pyracantha. There is a beautiful one near me, always lots of berries each year.

I only have one resident blackie who is usually in the garden every day and the last few years nests in the pyracanthas/holly hedge.
The babies don't usually stay in the garden though.

Josie, I was smiling today as a little Robin kept popping in and out of the garden. May post some photos later. Now Woodpeckers would be a real treat to see ... enjoy watching yours.

Thanks Janey, I shall look tomorrow and see if there might be a seedling or two that I could grow on.

I'm liking this one too, Shirley. Only red and orange around here.
I'm really sorry you're not seeing the blackies so much now. 😔
Is it to do with next door chopping down a lot of their trees/shrubs?
We still have many visit here, I'm counting my blessings.

Kate, it's really strange that the berries are not being eaten by birds yet. Perhaps they leave the yellow ones until last, unpleasant taste perhaps?
We actually saw a female Blackbird on the garden fence yesterday so I hope she returns with her mate soon.
