Daffodils about to be planted in tub under Rose 'Golden Wedding' 8th October 2024

I found some daffy bulbs in the garage this afternoon Balc, so I've been planting them. A bit late but never mind..

I still have a couple of bags of Daffs that I was intending to plant in the containers around the cash machine but up to the present time I've not got around to doing it! I would like to do it during this week - sometime!

When it gets to be September the months seem to fly by don't they and there's always something else that has to be done. I hope you manage to get your daffs planted soon..

My son is going to bring me some bags of old compost to put in the planters & I also have a few bags I am planning on putting in them.

Now that I haven't got an allotment I'm finding it difficult to get rid of the used compost. But when I changed the compost in the hanging baskets this year - after several years use - I took all the old compost & put it in one of the planters around the cash machine, (that was before I put plants in them back in July), it soon became the local WC for the cats around here!

As I didn't have enough at the time for all 3 planters the other 2 escaped the cats' attention! When I put the Cosmos seedlings in the first planter I wore gloves but the plants were unfazed! The cats didn't harm the little plants either using it as their toilet.

I may make a start on Wednesday with removing the Geraniums & Fuchsias from the one nearest the road & work my way through the 3 tubs over a few days.
