Another bargain buy. I think I may plant it in a pot for its first year to see how it looks. It has a weeping habit.

Our previous neighbours had a Deutzia growing by the boundary fence, so we both enjoyed it. Sadly gone now ... both the neighbour and all the shrubs.

It's a beauty! My elderly couple from Roxby, who passed years ago, gave me a white flowering one Janey. It went up on the bund, but sadly, it's been overwhelmed.

Mine too has been overwhelmed by other shrubs but it is lovely!

I remember as a child Mum grew one to help hide a shed Karen. She grew it tall and the flowers were very pretty with a tinge of pink.
That isn't good Shirley, you must miss your old neighbours and their garden so much..
That's a shame Kate. I do think they are a type of shrub that gets easily missed. Maybe you can prune round it and get it back to how it was?
Yours too Rose! Could you bring it back to the fore in the Spring?

Not sure Janey as it was here when we moved in and could be quite old.

Janey, I'm resigned to it now ... :o(

I think they can get quite woody. Maybe a good prune would help it..

Of course Shirley, and the best way to be. You could plant something quite tall to privatise yourselves, if you haven't already..:)

Janey, luckily for us the neighbours are rarely outdoors!

I’ve never grown a Deutzia, but they are lovely in flower.
