Looking up in the newly rebuilt 110 year old Botanical Building. All the wooden laths were replaced and misters were added a long with walls and windows at ground level. The laths used to go all the way to the ground. Photo taken December 7, 2024.

All the hard work has certainly paid off. The roof is looking so good.

It is a spectacular building for a huge lath house. It felt really nice with the misters on also, as outside it was pretty warm Dec. 7th day, 83 degrees f (28 c).

It used to have very tall tree ferns like Cyathea medularis,C. brownii that reached the ceiling. I wonder if they transplanted them?

I bet they cut them down. They had a few very beautiful Chambeyronia ‘Watermelon’ palms and they grow to the ceiling and they cut them down. The big gate was right next to the palms, also. Crazy!
