Couldn't have been more perfect Klahanie...you were especially lucky....even the plumage colour matches the shrub.

I read several articles about wildfires on south of your country (Victoria?). Sounded very depressing.

Klahanie, yes unfortunately bush fires are a part of life during summer in the southern states. The conditions in the Grampians in Victoria have been perfect for bush fire outbreaks, as the sweltering heat and dangerous winds created the right environment for sparks to become raging fires.

The out of control fires burnt through around 70,000 hectares of land but thankfully there has been no loss of life. Lots of people had to evacuate their homes and there has been quite a bit of destruction and damage to properties. It hasn't been a great Christmas for quite a number of people.

All of this was happening over 2,500 kms away from us, but we understand their plight. We usually see bush fires in our wintertime up here, as that's our dry season.
