It’s amazing how this very golden Leaved Elder has the characteristic burgundy wine buds of all the S. nigra. Great to see it breaking bud in the shadiest spot in my garden. I can’t wait to see how big it will grow this season. I pruned off all the lower side shoots and buds as I’m aiming for a single clear stem.
