This interesting plant is from the highlands of Central America. It’s related to the African Violet and has very fuzzy, soft leaves. The orange flowers attract hummingbirds, also. Photo taken at San Francisco Botanical Gardens on February 19, 2025.

I’ve seen some up in the SF Bay Area. One my favorites is Fucshia boliviana, which is very common in coastal California.

Similar flowers and leaves to Fuchsia tryphylla. Some have fuzzy leaves like this as well
