Thanks Josie, Kate and Julia. I originally looked for A. 'Obelisk' with no success, then saw an A. canadensis 'Rainbow Pillar' which has the same upright, slender, columnar habit.
A bargain at £20 from a local family run nursery.

It fills the space where an Eleagnus was removed.

I have both Obelisk and Rainbow Pillar. My Obelisk is almost in bloom in a shady spot. The Rainbow pillar is growing well but doesn’t seem to have any blossoms. You will be thrilled with the autumn colour Shirley. It’s fabulous!

Gorgeous Shirley. Ours was thick with blossom a few days ago, but nearly all dropped now 😕. I’m sure the flowers lasted longer when the soil was very wet!
