All the rest are now in the compost. I look forward to selecting next years! The vacant pots now have Dahlias in.

Hi Rose, no. I treat them as annuals except for the species ones which I definitely do keep as the come back reliably. I have never had success with keeping them in the ground. Usually they come back blind or at the best with very faded colours. The Darwin varieties are reliable apparently, but I enjoy having a change each year. There are so many varieties to enjoy. Sometimes I flinch at the cost, but I don’t grow summer bedding, so I don’t feel so bad. Tulips are just such a joy in April. Especially after such a horrible winter as I have had. :)

Kate, I was expecting red hues too. There’s still time for that to develop I guess. These are nice, but they are my least favourite of this year’s selection.

I can understand that Karen. My tulips in my raised bed come back every year and I have some beauties in my rose garden.
