hi janey
we do have trees in orkney but not a lot of them. mostly in the towns and villages where they get a bit of protection from the wind outside of the towns they tend to grow stunted as the gales and salty air kills off the top growth

passifloras are wonderfull trying one in my garden
27 Aug, 2008
I think passifloras seem to be quite hardy and tough, the one I have really belongs to my neighbour, but it has grown right over the wall and down our side. It's intertwined with a creamy honeysuckle and a montana clematis which amazingly has started flowering again. Do you cope ok with the climate Boyd? Are you a born and bred Islander? Sorry I'm not nosey just very interested. Would your language be Scottish, and your quite near Norway too, is there much Norweigan influence where you are?
