Oh he is a beauty.........Great shot!! We have tons of painted ladies and some peacock still here swarming the buddleja...

You can put as many butterfly pics as you want. I've not seen any this year except one or two whites.

I wonder why that is Hywel, I mean there hasn't been the sun, but this last month as soon as it's appeared the butterflies have too, here.

We haven't seen many either this year. I was wondering about trying one of those insect boxes for next year. Has anyone had any experience of butterfly boxes?

Those insect boxes really do look interesting Fourseasons but haven't had any experience of them. The butterflies in our garden I'm sure are the ones that have hibernated all winter in what used to be a coal-house, which last year Ian insulated with polystyrene sheets and in the Winter, they were all asleep on it.
Since then he's made a door for it, so am not too sure where they will go. He's now busy with a project which will be like an roofed open area lined in wood,
to store a BBQ etc in winter. Hopefully they will settle in there this year. I'm sure that having somewhere for them to stay, even when it's rainy and the plants they like, they won't need to look anywhere else. :o)

I just love the coloring on this one ! I would love to see one in person, I'm not lucky enough to have this one here !

They're really friendly too Flcrazy, and will come and land on you in the garden.
