Agave Americana "Marginata"

Agave Americana "Marginata"

This is a beautiful plant but does tend to throw off shoots which form little "Baby cacti" for you to constantly have to remove. If left, the babies will continue to grow and become tangled with the adult then neither one will be able to spread its arms and grow into magnificent adulthood.

Ah, this is the same as the one we had growing near our gate and the babies were numerous, we brought one back and it's in the greenhouse growing. I used to snip off the spikes as they were lethal.

You know, I made an erroneous statement. The Agave are not really part of the cacti group. They are more closely related to the Lily and Amaryllis

I wouldn't worry about it Skippy; none of us here are very technical. I for one simply enjoy looking, oohhhing, and ahhhing.
