Rademachera species - Rare China Doll Tree

Rademachera species - Rare China Doll Tree (Rademachera species)

This is a picture of the rare China Doll Tree's flowers. Notice the flowers come from the trunk. In other species of Radermachera they usually bloom from the tips in clusters. Very unusual!

Seems strange to see flowers growing from the trunk.

Many tropical trees have their flowers or fruit grow right out of the trunk. It seems very unusual if you haven't seen this before. If you're interested in other trees that flower or fruit on their trunks look up these trees: Jacoticaba (Myrciaria cauliflora), Star Fruit (Averrhoa carambola), Roxburgh Fig (Ficus auriculata) these are just a few of many.

That's really unusual.
Very interesting colourful flowers growing out in that way.

Great tree, unusual flowering for Bignoniaceae, but similar to Campsis in colour and shape. Which latitude? Nice shot!
