Kigelia africana - Sausage Tree

I found the picture of this Sausage tree in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. This tree is pretty old. This tree has become more commonly available here. It is a tropical tree and very sensitive to cold weather.

Yes, this tree can grow large. The largest tree I have ever seen is just a mile from where I live at San Diego State University. I have never taken a picture of this tree though. I guess I should do this soon.
