Dawn Redwood. Matasequioa glyptostroboides

New purchase. This sweet little tree will become quite a giant given enough years. It will not be quite as big as the giant redwoods, and we shall not be around to see it reach it's full size. I have planted it now in the middle of our lower garden to replace a cherry tree that died.

The tree in this picture is a Sequoiadendron giganteum, aka (Giant Sequoia).. Metasequoia's foliage is a bit different.
