Lori , this is the Red Abyssinian Banana, Unfortunately it will not bloom for me because I have to dig it up, every year, and this variety doesn't produce pups either until the main banana flowers and dies, soooo I'll dig it up once, maybe twice and then it's bye bye for this one. The only reason I bought it , the tag in it said it was hardy to my zone, but they lied, it's not.!

Thanks Magic garden, glad you liked my little mess...lol. If your winter temps never drop below -3.8 °C. you should be able to grow the abyssinian Banana outside successfully. Our temps occasionally drop to -12.2 or alittle lower in winter here, so I have to dig it up each year and put it in my mother-in-laws basement.
