Chloe

This is my lovely Chloe, a little jack russell x dog. I adopted her and her brother (Mungo, who died last Christmas) when they were six weeks old. She is now over 15 now and apart from a few minor health problems, is doing well. Our walks are very sedate now although sometimes in the garden she forgets her age and runs about!

Chloe is lovely.
Fifteen is a good age.
You're obviously looking after her very well. :o)

Hello Chloe, welcome to GOY. Looks like she's aging like fine wine, the older the better.

Oh Chloe, you are so like my Jasper .... the same quizzical look in your eyes and ears anticipating a sound but not sure what.
Jasper is a wee bit older than you (17 in the New Year) and likes to take a gentle jaunt. He likes to take his tennis ball but loses sight of it if it moves too fast or too far away from him. Yesterday he lost sight of it as it dribbled through some wind-blown leaves on the field so he carried it back home.
I bet your best friends adore you and would do pretty much anything for you.

Thanks for your comments, Xela. Your Jasper looks a lovely old gent. Chloe has never been one for playing very much. When she was a puppy she played with Mungo a little, tug of war sort of thing, but never with a ball. If a ball is thrown to her she runs away from it! She has always taken life very seriously and becomes quite anxious when the grandchildren play 'tickle and giggle'. I think she would have made a good 'hearing dog for the deaf'' when she was younger as she was very aware of noises and when Mungo was alive and carried frogs into the house, she used to come and tell me, much to his disgust.

Ahh, bless.
We often see 'Hearing Dogs for the Deaf' puppy walkers around here, the headquarters is just a stone-throw from here. The work they do is remarkable.
Jasper was fascinated by the frogs who lived in the pond in our last garden. He would look for them in the nearby rockery and nudge them to make them jump. When they landed he would put his paw gently on them to stop them jumping again for a second or two. Then he would repeat the process until they eventually plopped into the pond.
In his youth Jasper enjoyed fielding for family cricket games but he always returned the ball to my husband no matter who was bowling :-D He used to love to go for a drive in the car, if the door was open he was the first in! Nowadays he is a nervous wreck if he has to be driven anywhere.
