This just reminded me; a friend visited around this time (before I re-dug this area). He looked a bit confused as I was telling him about my "Nas -tur-tee-ums". He politely pointed out they're pronounced "Nas-tur-shums" :o)

I would have politely pointed out that, in true Latin, you were more correct! :-0)

If I'd known I would have done :o) I did check in the Concise Oxford afterwards to make sure.
