This is a very rare Hawaiian variegated banana that is extremely expensive to buy. This is in my front yard. It is growing very well and is almost a year and half old. It produces variegated (green and white) fruit also.

Yes, even though I have a 4 foot wall around the front yard...with locked gates. However, if someone wanted it badly enough, it would be pretty easy to dig up.
My variegated banana has gotten a lot of attention from neighbors this year. I do get concerned because a Musa 'Ae Ae' this size would sell for about $600.00. Usually, just the corms are sold from $150.00 - $200.00.

This variety of banana produces very few pups, if any...and sometimes when it does they can revert back to the green form. This is why this variety is so extremely expensive.

Do you ever worry that your expensive plants might be dug up and stolen from your front yard ?
Or maybe folk don't realise they are valuable ?
