Still flowering happily - I shan't dead-head them as I want them to spread!

Do you find it sets seed ? I hope mine will spread then. I usually deadhead it but haven't got round to it this year.

The stream bisects the front garden, TT. We have to cross an ancient bridge to get to the front door. It isn't usually deep enough to swim in, but Henry plodges up and down frequently! When it does rise, it runs too fast for him - he is sensible enough not to venture in.
Hywel, I assume it sets seed because the Loosestrife along the banks of streams near to us have lots of plants - so it has to be nature doing it! This is their first year on my bank. However, the two L.s.'Robert' I had already on the sloped bank further along haven't produced any babies in 4 years, so I could be totally wrong - they may be spreading by runners in the wild?

These are considered a big threat to water systems in much of Canada and people are warned against them because they spread so fast and choke out everything else. Keep an eye on them!

OK - I will. I hope they do spread a bit, though, as this area was just full of nettles and brambles before I worked on it. It was a real eyesore.

What else?
See who else is growing Lythrum salicaria.
See who else has plants in genus Lythrum.
